Press Release: 24 Graduate from Skills to Launch Program, Building Pathways to Career Success
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
[North Little Rock, June 25, 2025] – The North Little Rock Public Library System’s Innovation Hub proudly celebrated the graduation of 24 students from Cohort 11 of its Skills to Launch program, a free 10-week workforce development initiative offering hands-on trade training and essential professional skills.
Launched in 2020, Skills to Launch continues to serve adults from diverse backgrounds who are seeking career change, stability, or a second chance. The program blends technical training in high-demand trades with professional development in communication, goal-setting, resume writing, and financial literacy.
Graduates captured the spirit of the program by sharing:
“I just felt like I belonged here."
"Skills to Launch totally changed my outlook—my perception of things."
"It brought out the best version of me that I could have right now.”
For many participants, this program was more than a pathway to employment—it was a life-changing opportunity for personal growth and renewed purpose.
“What we saw over these ten weeks was more than just skills development,” said Susanna Creed, NLRPLS's Workforce Development Manager. “We witnessed personal transformation, mindset shifts, and a deep belief that change is possible.”
Many graduates came to the program seeking more than a job—they were looking for opportunity, growth, and a support system. For some, it was a Google search that led them here. For others, it was word of mouth. But for all, Skills to Launch provided a space to learn, grow, and belong.
The graduation ceremony included student reflections and words of encouragement from instructors, staff, and past graduates. Their stories echo what many participants experienced throughout the program: a supportive space not only to gain job-ready skills but to rediscover personal potential and purpose.
